Danielle McBarron
Graduate-Level Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
Clinical Interests
Danielle has a particular passion for working with neurodivergent individuals, drawing on both 10 years of professional experience in education and her own experience as a late-identified neurodivergent person. She also works with clients navigating depression, anxiety, burnout, trauma, and religious trauma and healing.
Approach
Danielle’s work is grounded in neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and person-centered practices. She draws from ACT, CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches, adapting her style to fit each client. Her focus is on creating a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood, and on supporting them in building self-compassion and living more authentically.
What Draws Me to This Work
As a late-identified neurodivergent person myself, I know what it feels like to spend years not quite understanding why things felt harder than they seemed to for everyone else. That experience shapes everything about how I show up for clients. I want people to feel what I didn’t always have: a space where they don’t have to mask, explain, or justify themselves to get support.
